Is the Pickup Pet a separate minion?
No. It is one of your extra independent PoE 2 characters performing assigned pickup work.
Can more than one follower collect?
Ultimate can use P2, P3 and P4 as part of a four-character party; assignment depends on the selected setup and rules.
Does my main character have to stop fighting?
No. Your main can keep clearing while another character handles selected drops.
