Self-run PoE 2 co-op

Play the whole co-op party yourself.

You can keep the social feel, role synergy and visual chaos of a party without scheduling three other people. Start with two characters or build the complete four-character formation.

The short answer

Use Findigo Standard for two characters in one local couch co-op client, or Ultimate for up to four characters across two different official clients.

01
Start with the outcome

Two characters are the simple route. Four are the full experience.

Standard is the clean introduction: P1 leads and P2 follows inside one couch co-op client. Ultimate expands the idea to P1/P2 on Client 1 and P3/P4 on Client 2.

If your PC has the headroom, four players are the better long-term canvas. You can specialise every slot instead of forcing one follower to cover support, collection and boss damage at once.

2P

Learn the loop

One client, two characters and the shortest setup.

3P

Add a specialist

Split the party across two clients and add a dedicated third role.

4P

Build the full machine

Damage, amplification, control and utility in one formation.

02
From desktop to party

Build a clean baseline before adding automation.

  1. 01

    Install the matching edition

    Choose Standard for one-client 2P or Ultimate for dual-client 2P, 3P or 4P.

  2. 02

    Connect one controller

Make sure Windows sees it before opening Findigo.

  3. 03

    Prepare PoE 2

For Steam, use the default Controller override. Ultimate also needs a second different official client.

  4. 04

    Follow protected pairing

Pair only the player and client shown by the app.

  5. 05

    Verify independent movement

Focus each character and make sure no other player moves.

  6. 06

    Enable follow and utility

Add Smart Follow, recovery, loot and routed actions gradually.

03
The control loop

Most of the time you drive one clear leader.

P1 normally navigates, positions the formation and clears. Followers stay close and contribute through the durable or supported actions you chose for them. When another character needs precision, Smart Focus gives that player direct control.

The result feels less like playing four games at once and more like commanding one custom party. Your build choices determine how much attention each follower needs.

04
Why proximity wins

A compact party is a reliable party.

Party effects and role synergy fail when followers are left behind. Findigo's follow, catch-up and transition features are aimed at keeping the formation inside useful range while you move naturally through the map.

After deaths, portals or difficult terrain, focus the missing character and rebuild the formation before continuing. That small habit is the difference between theoretical party power and dependable party play.

05
Recommended first party

Use one active carry and three forgiving specialists.

P1

Mobile carry

The build you enjoy controlling directly.

P2

Durable amplifier

Buffs, debuffs or exposure with low maintenance.

P3

Control follower

Freeze, stun, minions or persistent area denial.

P4

Utility specialist

Pickup Pet, recovery, mechanics or boss finishing.

06
Know the boundaries

Keep every player independently controllable.

  • Never continue if a movement check shows unintended mirrored control.
  • Use no more than two clients on one computer under current GGG staff guidance.
  • Do not use virtual machines to exceed the client limit.
  • Keep both Ultimate clients visible and use supported official-client pairs.
  • Test risky build experiments in a safe area before mapping.

Common questions

Before you try it.

Can I play PoE 2 co-op alone?

Yes. Findigo lets one person coordinate two to four characters with one controller.

Is two-player or four-player easier?

Two-player is easier to set up. Four-player offers much more role flexibility when your PC and build plan can support it.

Do I need to control every character constantly?

No. Lead with one player, use supported follow and utility features, then focus another character only when direct control is needed.

Can I use two Steam clients?

No. Ultimate requires two different official client types, such as Steam + Epic or Steam + standalone.

Will all party members always stay together?

Normal follow and catch-up are designed for compact movement, but deaths, transitions and blocked terrain can still require direct recovery.
